Who We Are

New Name. Same Mission. Bigger Impact.

Skills4Good, formerly B3 Canada, is a social purpose organization driven to help companies win the talent war through skills-based volunteering. Our Skills4Good matchmaking programs match employees with nonprofits using an algorithm-driven, scalable B2B matchmaking platform.

Skills4Good is our new name because we’re amplifying the power of companies to do good globally through skills-based volunteering. We match talent with purpose.

We're expanding beyond Canada’s borders into the U.S. and across the world. We’re also expanding beyond nonprofit board matching for senior-level employees. We're providing skills-based volunteering for young and mid-level employees too.

Josephine Victoria Yam, J.D., LLM.
CEO & Co-Founder

Josephine is a highly accomplished lawyer with significant years of legal, policy, leadership and entrepreneurial experiences in the private, public and nonprofit sectors in Canada and internationally. She’s been admitted to practice law in New York (USA), Alberta (Canada), Ontario (Canada) and the Philippines. Josephine is one of the RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awardees. She is also a recipient of the Most Influential Filipina Woman in the World Award (London, UK). Josephine graduated from Stanford University's Executive Program for Non-Profit Leaders. She also completed her Master of Laws (LLM) degree at the University of Calgary. Complementing her advanced education at Harvard Law School and the University of Toronto, Josephine received the Award of Achievement on Diversity & Inclusion from the University of British Columbia.

Angelo Narciso

As COO and Co-Founder of Skills4Good, Angelo oversees its operations and algorithm-driven B2B matchmaking platform. With a university degree in Industrial Engineering, Angelo began his career in information technology and systems design with a Fortune 500 multinational company as he worked on multimillion-dollar projects in the company's offices in the U.S. and Asia. He founded and later sold an IT company that served the banking, insurance and post-secondary education sectors. He also founded a web design/development and marketing firm that caters to professionals, small businesses and nonprofit organizations in Canada, the U.S. and Asia. With his passion for sustainability, he completed environmental certificate programs from the University of Calgary and University of Toronto and worked on sustainability projects in Canada, Europe and South America.

Heather Shapter

Heather Shapter, M.B.A., B.A. (Psychology)

Heather is a senior leader with experience across five continents and a proven capacity for partnership building between the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. For over 25 years, she has been building the effectiveness of organizational leadership throughout the world to further her commitment to end poverty for vulnerable populations. She creates and executes transformational change by building high performance teams and cultures of accountability and purpose. She has several years of nonprofit board experience, including serving as Board Chair. Heather also held leadership roles in some of the world’s most respected international non-governmental organizations and foundations, in the Caribbean, Africa, Russia, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. She has been recognized nationally and internationally for leadership in service of others.

As a Program Consultant with Skills4Good, Rose leverages her more than 20 years of deep experience as senior Leadership & Development (L&D) specialist and project leader in the private and non-profit sectors. She has successfully designed, developed and delivered learning opportunities to support and enhance employee effectiveness and engagement to support organizational change, performance management and talent management initiatives. Working with leaders across organizations, she provides objective advice and coaching to build leadership capacity to engage a diverse workforce and promote an inclusive culture where all employees feel valued, respected and can bring their authentic selves to work.

Founded in 1943 as Volunteer Vancouver, Vantage Point delivers learning opportunities focused on governance, leadership, planning and people engagement for new and seasoned sector leaders, board directors and managers, aimed at advancing nonprofit leadership.
